YEAR ROUND ADULT SOCCER LEAGUES
Co-Ed, Men, Women
If you are interested in registering a new team or if the registration is closed, please email Scheduling at leagues@sportcityutah.com
COMPETITIVE
This division is reserved for skilled and experienced players with the ability and desire to compete hard with good sportsmanship at a higher level than intermediate. If your team took last or 2nd to last place, the last session, the team may get moved down to the lower league. Sport City reserves the right to move a team down based on results during the current season and/or combine divisions based on the number of teams signed up. We are unable to move teams to a lower division after the second game if score results aren't favorable to the team. We are unable to guarantee to move competitive teams to the intermediate division based on skill lever. Any competitive league without enough teams may be refunded in full.
INTERMEDIATE A
This division is tailored to players with higher levels of skill and experience who desire to play at a challenging level without the seriousness of the competitive league. The focus is on competing hard with good sportsmanship. If your team took 1st or 2nd place in the last session, the team may get moved up to a higher league for the next session at Sport City's discretion. If your team took last or 2nd to last place, the last session, the team may get moved down to the lower league. Sport City reserves the right to move a team up or down based on results during the current season and/or combine divisions based on the number of teams signed up. We are unable to move teams to a lower division after the second game if score results aren't favorable to the team.
INTERMEDIATE B
This league is designed for players who are more advanced than the beginning league who desire more competition and structure in the game. If your team took 1st or 2nd place in the last session, the team may get moved up to a higher league for the next session at Sport City's discretion. If your team took last or 2nd to last place, the last session, the team may get moved down to the lower league. Sport City reserves the right to move a team up or down based on the teams skill level and results during the current season and/or combine divisions based on the number of teams signed up. We are unable to move teams to a lower division after the second game if score results aren't favorable to the team.
FRIENDLY
For new, developing, or recreational players who desire a mild level of play. The focus is on FUN and becoming better at the game with a low key environment consisting of other players who want to come out and have a good time while getting a great workout. Any team who acts in a way that is against just having FUN (constant complaining to referees, reckless challenges, blue card offenses, yellow card offenses, red card offenses, etc), may get moved to the Intermediate League and will not be allowed to register for the Friendly league for the next session.
If your team is dominating the league in this division, the team will be moved to a higher division. If your team took 1st or 2nd place in the last session, the team may get moved up to a higher league for the next session at Soccer City's discretion. Soccer City reserves the right to move a team up or down based on results during the current season and/or combine divisions based on the number of teams signed up.
If a team registers in the wrong league, we do not guarantee to redo the schedule. Due to the complexity of scheduling which affects multiple leagues, rescheduling leagues is very difficult. It is your responsibility to make sure you register in the correct league. There is a $200 reschedule fee for any league reschedules depending on whether we are able to redo the leagues.
REGISTERING IN THE INCORRECT LEAGUE: If you register your team for a lower league than your skill level and Soccer City moves your team up after the first game to put you in the correct league based on your skill level, you will not be guaranteed to play in the Championship game in the higher league due to playing a game(s) in a lower league to start the season.
LEAGUE PLACEMENT
• Sport City reserves the right to place your team in the league it feels is most suitable to the skill level of the team or based on the number of teams signed up in each league. If your team is dominating the league in your division, it will require an automatic move to a higher division. If your team placed in 1st or 2nd place of the current league, Sport City may move your team to a higher league for the next session. If your team place in last or 2nd to last place previous league, Sport City may move your team to a lower league for the next session. If Sport City moves your team to a higher or lower division and you are not happy, you have the option to drop out of the league under the section below "Cancellation/Drop Out." If the team signs back up in the future, it may get placed in the same division based on Sport City's discretion. It is your responsibility to make sure you register in the correct league. There is a $200 reschedule fee for any league reschedules depending on whether we are able to redo the leagues.
CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES
There will be a championship game between the 1st and 2nd place teams based on the standings of the first 7 games. All subsequent teams will play in a placement game (3rd vs. 4th, 5th vs. 6th), etc. The winner of the championship game will earn an award. If the league has an odd number of teams or have every team complete 7 games before the last day of the session, the championship game will be decided based on the first 6 games. Soccer City works to make the last games competitive with a team that is similar in skill level. In the event there is a tie, the tiebreakers rules in descending order are as follows: (1) Head to head (2) Score difference (3) Scores against (4) Scores for. You lose 3 points if you forfeit. If the Championship game ends in a tie, the teams will select three players to take part in a shootout. If the game is still tied after three kicks from each team, the game will continue with each team selecting another player to take a kick as a golden goal in each round. The play is considered dead once the goalkeeper touches the ball and the momentum of the ball doesn't carry itself into the goal. The kicker may not play the ball a second time once it has hit the goalkeeper. A player may take a kick again once all of his teammates have taken their turn in sequence. For coed games, a female player must take a shootout kick for every 3 shootout kicks. The away team will take the first kick. Only players who have paid and are on the roster are allowed to play in Championship games if your team wins and would like the win result.
GAME SCHEDULING
Leagues are created when at least 4 teams are registered. Each team will have 8 scheduled games. The 1st game is scheduled and posted as soon as possible but due to late registrations, etc., we may not post the first game until 24 hours before the date and time of the game. The first game may change up to the morning of the first game. It is important to check the schedule after 9 am the day of the game. The remaining schedule (besides the final games) is then posted either at least 48 hours before the second game or after the second game in case we need to remove a team or modify the league a team is in based on skill level. The last game (Championship Games) is posted after the 6th or 7th game and will be based on standings as mentioned above. This game will be posted at least 48 hours before the final game. When competitive and intermediate and/or friendly leagues are combined, the schedule may be posted on a week by week basis to help schedule games based on teams current skill level to make games more competitive. This is done by analyzing past game score results including the most recent score result.
Every league has games between 5:30 PM to 11:35 PM. Among the first 7 games, we do our best to give teams at most two early (before 6 PM) and two late games (11 PM & later) and the rest in between. If you register within two days of the league start date, you may have three late games. If your team has more than this, please let Scheduling (Leagues@sportcityutah.com) know and we will look to fix the schedule. Due to the complexities of scheduling and random selection, we cannot guarantee that every teams schedule will be equal in game times. Some teams may play two late games or two early games compared to another team. We only guarantee that your team will have no more than two late and two early games. If we are overbooked with youth teams during the winter, youth games will be played during weeknights between 5-9 pm and adult games will be played between 9-11:35 pm. You will have more than two late games in this situation. Adult games may be scheduled week by week during the winter in determining field availability for youth games. Due to the complexities scheduling, we cannot accommodate requests such as having games after 7 pm and before 10 pm. We can look to accommodate late games requests only when the league isn't full (24 or more teams signed up among that particular day leagues). If the league is full, teams will have a combination of early, mid evening and late games. Teams may have a bye one week and a doubleheader another week including holidays that aren't excluded. Adult games will have games on holidays except July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas eve, Christmas, and New Years eve. Games on Halloween will be after 9 pm. Please check the schedule regularly. DO NOT take a screenshot or picture of your schedule. We will only notify and confirm with the captain of any schedule changes if we need to make a change within 24 hours of your originally scheduled game. This does not apply to the first game of the session.

treatment of referees
Soccer City requires all players, coaches and parents to treat game officials with respect and kindness. We continue to see our referee numbers diminish due to mistreatment. We cannot continue to maintain a quality league with such mistreatment. Immediate steps are being taken against those found to have been involved in referee abuse or assault in any way. Please assist your friends in the game, in the bench or in the bleachers, via your own example, to treat all referees, regardless of experience or talent, with respect and kindness. The longer we keep referees, the more experienced they become and the more capable they are of doing a great job. We will not tolerate referee abuse! Any type of abuse will result in ejection from the game and facility. Serious suspensions will be imposed towards the individual or team for any such action. If you witness referee mistreatment in any degree, by anyone at all, please send an email to discipline@sportcityutah.com with the game, date, time, teams and a brief description. Our disciplinary committee will investigate. In addition, referees are not required to give any player, coach or parent their name nor is Soccer City required to release that information. Such request will be deemed as a variation of referee mistreatment and will not be tolerated.

If you play while on suspension, further discipline will be extended to you and/or your team.
Any team who engages in a mass confrontation of pushing, grabbing, throwing punches, using obscene and vulgar language, and any other confrontation that involves multiple players, may be removed from the league and suspended. No refunds will be given for misbehavior of our rules and policies.
Any teams who receive two or more red cards in a session, may be restricted from registering a team again. Any team who continues to receive blue cards and yellow cards in games may be restricted from registering a team again. Sport City requires all captains to manage their team and assist the referees so that their aren't excessive blue cards and yellow cards. A captain may be restricted from registering a team in the future if he/she fails to manage the behavior of the team.

Youth League policies
PLEASE READ BEFORE REGISTERING YOUR TEAM
1. There will be 2 sessions consisting of 8 games each. The below policies apply whether you register online or in person at the facility.
2. Session 1 runs October 24th - January 1st, 2026. (Registration Deadline: October 19th, 2025 or until league is full)
3. Session 2 runs January 2nd - March 31st, 2026 (Registration Deadline: December 25th, 2025 or until league is full).
4. All teams must be paid in full by the Registration deadline to be put in the league. Any teams not paid in full will be taken out of the league.
5. We will accommodate ONLY ONE tournament request. Any others cannot be guaranteed. Teams playing in an out-of-town tournament are required to forward their tournament acceptance email to leagues@sportcityutah.com by October 19th, 2025 or the registration deadline, whichever is later. Any requests made after this date will not be guaranteed. If the request is not emailed, it will not be valid. All requests must include exact team name as register in our league, the league registered in, the name of the tournament and the dates of the tournament. We only guarantee one tournament requests if the team is playing. We do not guarantee tournament requests where players from the team are out of town playing with another team or the coach is out of town with a different team. An assistant coach or parent may fill in for a coach out of town. If your team doesn't forward the tournament acceptance email until after the schedule is posted, we charge a $75 reschedule fee if we are able to reschedule. Due to the limited field and court space and the leagues being full, we cannot guarantee to reschedule.
6. If you provide us with two tournaments, we will choose one to be your guaranteed tournament. Sport City allows a team to have guest players or a different team the same age or one year younger to play in place of a team if there is a conflict. So long as those players have an online waiver completed and added to the roster. Due to the number of times teams play against each other and how it affects the opponents and overall schedule, Sport City does not guarantee to switch teams on multiple games when coaches collaborate on a game change. Please do not contact other clubs, coaches or managers requesting to make changes.
7. Sport City sometimes verifies if the team is registered in the requested tournament when the tournament posts the accepted teams or the schedule on their website. Any team that deceives Sport City with a doctored email will be required to pay a $75 fine and may have a game rescheduled over the requested weekend and be suspended from registering a team in the future.
8. Any tournament requests after the deadline and after the schedule is posted require a $75 reschedule fee. We will look at the schedule to see if we have an open space to reschedule the game. However, due to the limited field and court space, we do not guarantee we will be able to reschedule the game. If we are unable to reschedule the game, we will refund the $75 reschedule fee. However, the team will still be required to pay the $35 forfeit fee if they do not have a team at the game. Teams can invite guest players or another team the same age or younger to play in their place so long as that team pays the referee fee. This will avoid the forfeit fee.
9. If your teams is playing in an outdoor game on October 24th or 25th, you must send an email to Leagues@sportcityutah.com by October 19th, 2025 with a screen shot of your UYSA outdoor game schedule for us to ensure your game time at Sport City doesn't conflict. The team name needs to match the outdoor schedule. If the screen shot is not emailed, it will not be valid. We only guarantee to accommodate one outdoor game conflict on the first weekend. Any requests made after this date will not be guaranteed. If we are able to move the game to a different time the same day, there will be a $30 reschedule fee.
10. Due to the schedule already being posted, we will no longer be able to accommodate outdoor game conflicts in March. We encourage you to use your allotted UYSA reschedules if your games are scheduled at the same time.
11. Due to the complexities of scheduling more than 100 registered teams we are unable to guarantee other request such as ODP, Fall break, Spring break, High school Prom, local tournament events, etc.
12. Due to Boys High School Varsity and JV soccer leagues needing to finish by the end of February, we are unable to guarantee any tournament requests for High school varsity and JV leagues. This doesn't apply to Session 1 (November, December league). However, we will do our best to accommodate one tournament and may give a double header another week. Boys High School Varsity and JV soccer leagues will be played in January & February and All Girls Varsity & JV games will be played in February & March due to the Boys league needing to finish before high school tryouts. We only accommodate to finish JV and Varsity high school division games by the end of February. This doesn't apply to any other league.
13. NO GAMES will be rescheduled due to Forfeits. All Forfeited teams must pay a $35 forfeit fee before their next game. If the fee is not paid, Sport City reserves the right to remove the team from the league.
14. If your team needs to forfeit due to being out of town for a second tournament or another conflict, you may contact leagues@sportcityutah.com to see if another team can play in your place. If another team in your league takes your place and pays the referee fee to have a game, Sport City does not charge a forfeit fee. We do not allow teams to swap games with each other.
15. If you have more than 1 team in the same division, they will play each other. Due to teams registering late, reschedules, tournaments, etc, teams may play against other teams more than once and not play other teams in the league. Our leagues are for training and developmental purposes for outdoor only. Please use the games schedule as an opportunity for development regardless of the opponent.
16. We reserve the right to combine age groups, divisions, and leagues if needed without notice. We also reserve the right to divide the league into divisions if needed without notice. If an age group is combined, the rules for the oldest age group will apply.
17. We reserve the right to reschedule youth games scheduled on weeknights (Monday to Thursday) based on adult team sign ups during the session. We estimate our adult team signs ups when scheduling youth games. If adult team sign ups are more than estimated, youth games may be rescheduled to accommodate adult games that play year round at Sport City. We will notify the the person who signed up the team if we need to reschedule a game to accommodate our adult league.
18. We reserve the right to remove a team from the league if the team registered in the wrong division based on age and/or skill level and the correct division is full and not accepting more teams.
19. We reserve the right to reschedule week day youth games when adult games conflict. The team will be notified in this situation. We do our best to schedule games so that games won't conflict but due adult leagues ending and starting in the middle of the youth session, we may have conflicting games.
20. Age groups 10 and younger are not allowed to register and play in age divisions 2 years older.
21. If you have multiple teams, we cannot guarantee the game times. We will accommodate if the teams are in the same league besides JV and Varsity leagues, but unfortunately, it makes it very difficult to put together a schedule where all coaches who have multiple teams don't have any coaching conflicts. You can have an assistant coach or parent assist when there is a conflict. Since we need two older teams playing the early or late games, ensuring teams don't have conflicting game times in the same league does not apply to JV and Varsity leagues.
22. Your team manager or coach is responsible to have all parents/legal guardian of players complete a waiver. Once the team is registered, the person who registered the team will need to click on "My Teams" on the left side of their profile, then the team name, and then invite members with their first and last name, email and phone number. Each team is required to print their roster using print screen and provide it to the referee before each game. Failure to provide a roster will result in your team not being placed on the schedule or forfeited games already scheduled.
23. Team fees are non-refundable nor transferable. By registering your team, you agree that your team is registered in the division you chose that is suitable to your age and skill level.
